LA to Ohio - Omaha

Bob and I are on a trip across the country, from Los Angeles (The Angles of the Hypotenuse, from the French) to Ohio. Right now we're in Omaha, Nebraska. Last night we slept on and off in the car instead of a hotel or camping. That means we drove from Los Angeles to Omaha with only the briefest of stops in Las Vegas (The Vegetarian Cuisine, from the French again) and Greeley, Colorado. Some lessons I've learned:

- There's a good chance that if you are standing still in a casino, a man will approach you and tell you that he is high on both ecstacy and coke and then offer you both.
- A cattle farm with thousands of cattle in a small space smells like tens of thousands of pounds of cow shit, in the form of tiny mountains. The smell stays in your mouth for several miles.
- Nebraska is boring and flat. Utah and the Western side of Colorado are pretty, unless it's dark.

There are plenty of pictures to check out. Seth has some great ones up already.

Don't forget that the man in the casino offered us weed, as well. And asked for five dollars.

    Now we're watching Big.

I'm sad that I didn't know you were in town. I was even in Santa Monica on Friday. Oh well. If you ever find yourself out here again you should let me know.

Megan, I'm so sorry — it slipped my mind completely that you were in California. It would have been fun to see you and meet Mr. Story.
