I wanna be a Kid Star
ok. Hi. What am I doing? My life is pretty uninteresting I think. Today I was late to work. I didn't get a "verbal warning" though. But I did conjugate congregational conscripts in the corner closet. Zing.
Our town has a new library that just opened. I haven't seen it but apparently it is so nice that it looks like a Barnes and Noble, or something. My sister said it's so nice they should sell books in it. Oh boy. Elly, the books are already free. There's no need to sell them, because you can just take them.
Batman Begins comes out tomorrow. I really want to see it, but I am working a lot right now, so I don't know if I want to take the time to do that. Hmmm. I'd have to see the late show. You should see it, it looks great. Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Ken Watanabe, and... Katie Holmes. Seriously, with all these great actors, Katie Holmes has to be billed last, if at all.
I know her Dawson's Creek work isn't exactly amazing performances, despite our addiction to the show, but she was really good in Pieces of April, her probably only good movie to date. And now there's a chance for more greatness, as she takes on the role of Assistant DA, which may or may not be completely ridiculous.
Let's hope more interesting things happen for me to talk about.

Yo potato. I wanted to tell you that the message you left for my birthday was something else. I listened to it twice. It seems someone was laughing really hard in the background. Perhaps it was someone sometimes known as Overkill? I wish I had a handle. I would choose something really hard core like Murder I or Lamb Shanks. Also, you are too old to be a child star. Also, I hope you are swimming in your neighborhood pool.

Hey, I know this is unpleasant to speak of, but speaking of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise... Katie Holmes is becoming a Scientologist! That's the scary part.
I am also excited about Batman Begins. The movie looks good, and I'd see it if it just had Christian Bale (and Christopher Nolan)... but the list of good people in it goes on and on: Liam Neeson, and don't miss Andrew Pleavin as Uniformed Policman #2. Actually, looking at the full cast and crew, there are two Nolans with cameos.

Yeah, I was bummed to hear Tom Cruise suckered her into joining up with those mindjobs. It's hard to understand how rational people can believe you have to pay all this money to get evil alien spirits out of you and that that's the meaning of life.

There are rational people involved? I thought it was hollywood celebrities...

I know I shouldn't abuse the system like this, but please don't be mad.
The tagline for Equilibrium is "In a future where freedom is outlawed outlaws will become heroes." which is funny so I looked up some other outlawed/outlaw jokes.
But the only funny one I found is "When cryptography is outlawed, bayl bhgynjf jvyy unir cevinpl" which is pretty funny.
I think I should see that movie if I want to keep calling myself the jackal.

Jackal: Equilibrium is like a really cool idea that some high school kids came up with after they all read 1984. And that's about as far as it should have gone. It's not exactly revolutionary, and the ending is weak, to say the least. What could have been good turned bad, probably by nervous producers who didn't know how to market. However, the more I see Christian Bale act, the more I think he is the man.
Bob, when you said there were nolans in the movie, I thought you were saying that people whose first name was Nolan were in the movie, which wasn't impressive at all. But then I understood.

I am Bob.
I'm sorry that Equilibrium wasn't very good. But that sounds like an OK movie, even from your description--that sounds about the same as Mr. and Mrs. Smith (fun actors to watch, great premise, lackluster follow-through).
If I can go even further off-topic for a moment...
If anyone within eyeshot hasn't registered for a Gmail address yet, you should do so now (if you ever want one). I have been trying to register a new one, and they've all been taken. Even rcantoni, which seems pretty specific, for example. I only bring this up because I wanted the.jackal@gmail.com, and that's taken.
What I really want is robert@gmail.com, but that is obviously gone (I'd even like to buy it, if possible). I also saw someone with i.robert@gmail.com, which is brilliant.
I encourage you to go to the library, Chris, but I agree with Elly--I like hanging out in bookstores more than libraries. (Libraries with coffee shops in them is a good idea.)
You can't "just take" the books from the library, by the way. You have to check them out. I learned that lesson the easy way.

How are all of you able to sign up for gmail accounts? I just visited the site and it's still not available to the public. Maybe I'd like to get one for myself, but nooooooooooo.

Oh, I'm sorry Seth. It's still not open to the public, but there are tons of invites floating around. I have 49. I'll send you one, and anyone else who wants one.
